At the age of 18 while attending the University of Arizona I helped start the Gamma Rho chapter of Kappa Sigma as a founding father. When we became recognized in 2013 I was serving as the treasurer on the five person executive committee. As the founding treasurer of a fraternity I was responsible for the chapters financial well being. during the year long term I obtained the knowledge of how an organization operates on a financial level. This required me to generate funds through dues, fundraisers and donations. I also had to control the flow of money through our accounts by creating budgets and reports. Some of my roles included collecting dues from members, overseeing all financial aspects of 115+ members, creating budgets for each semester, position/chair and event. Managing an account with $250,000+ processed through it each year, and managing philanthropic, fundraising, and brotherhood chairs.
After serving as the treasurer I ran and was elected as one of the two Vice Presidents of the Gamma Rho chapter of Kappa Sigma. I served on a five person committee that runs the fraternity. Some of my duties included overseeing all internal affairs and operations. Intermediation between alumni, advisors, and members. Development of programs, best practices, and protocols for chapter sustainability. Working on the executive board with four others members to lead the organization. Running the recruitment process for potential members, and growing the chapter by more than 30% through formal recruitments.
